Professional Stafflink Pty Ltd (ABN: 68 689 969 104) trading as Professional FinanceLink ("PFL", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy applies to all services, applications, and platforms operated by PFL, including the PFL Personal Budget App, the PFL Super Tool, and any other digital products we make available (collectively, "our Services").

By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information you provide
- Your name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Financial data you enter manually into our Services (e.g. budget categories, expense amounts, descriptions)
- For the PFL Super Tool: payroll data you choose to upload (e.g. employee names, tax file numbers, superannuation fund details, contribution amounts) for the sole purpose of generating a SuperStream-compliant file. This data is processed entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to or stored on PFL's servers.


2b. Information collected automatically
- Basic usage data (e.g. pages visited, features used) for the purpose of improving our Services
- Device and browser type for technical support purposes

2c. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your bank account numbers, passwords, or payment credentials
- We do not collect financial data beyond what you choose to enter manually

3. How We Store Your Data

PFL is built with a privacy-first architecture. Specifically:
- Financial data you enter into our Services is processed via Vercel's serverless infrastructure and saved directly to your own Google Drive account
- PFL does not permanently store your financial data on our servers or databases — zero financial data is retained by PFL
- Your Google account credentials are managed entirely by Google and Clerk (our authentication provider) — PFL never has access to your Google password

 

For the PFL Super Tool specifically:

- All payroll file processing (CSV upload, column mapping, SAFF file generation) occurs entirely within your web browser. PFL does not receive, transmit, or store any payroll data, including employee names, tax file numbers, or superannuation details, on its servers at any point.

- To validate superannuation fund details, the PFL Super Tool sends only the fund's USI (Unique Superannuation Identifier) or ABN — never employee personal information — to the Australian Government's Super Fund Lookup service for verification.

- Credit balances and transaction history for paid services are stored securely in PFL's database, linked to your account, for the purpose of tracking your service usage and providing customer support.



Your data stored in your Google Drive is subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our Services
- Authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In
- Respond to support requests
- Send important service-related communications (e.g. updates, security notices)

- Australian Taxation Office / Super Fund Lookup (superannuation fund validation — receives only fund USI/ABN, no personal data)



We do not use your information for advertising purposes. Our Services are ad-free.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services, including:

- Clerk (authentication) — Privacy Policy (https://clerk.com/legal/privacy)
- Google (Sign-In and Drive storage) — Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy)

- For the PFL Super Tool, payroll data is never stored and exists only in your browser session — it is automatically discarded once you close the tab or navigate away. Credit purchase and usage records are retained for accounting and customer support purposes for as long as you have an active account.

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are not authorised to use your information for any other purpose.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PFL, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

- Authentication data (name, email) is retained for as long as you have an active account with us
- Financial data entered into our Services is stored in your own Google Drive and is subject to your own retention preferences — you may delete it at any time
- If you close your account, we will delete your authentication data within 30 days

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of any marketing communications

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication via Google and Clerk, and a privacy-first architecture that avoids storing financial data on PFL servers.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
